The other day I was talking to someone from Spain who said "You make me laugh, I thought New Zealanders were cold towards other people".
I reckon those damn Aussies have been spreading rumours or something!![]()

It never ceases to amaze me that people generalize folk simply because of what city / town they live in.
There are good bastards, and assholes in every part of society - the geographic location has no bearing on it.
Except the in-bread and feral west coasters - and that must be true because Helen Clarke said it.

Yep, I've been loving the cloudless and coldish days.![]()
To be fair and to be honest, I lived in Papatotetoe for 12 months and never had a problem at all. I lived in a two bedroom flat (one of two) and next door got broken into one friday during the day, they never touched my place, and would have had to go around my place to get to the back of next door. I once got home after work and my garage door was wide open...nobody inside, nothing gone, I must have left it open when I went to work. Now for the honest part....the CBD smells like shit!

I lived on the North Shore for twenty years and you can shove the whole place up yer arse.
Did I just type that or think it?![]()
North shore for the WIN
What you have in your heart will be revealed through what you have in your life.
If things are going badly in our circumstances, the answer to what is happening to us outwardly is more often than not found in the mirror.
If I am to tell the whole story, I should say that I think it was just a small patch around the house we were renting at the time.
Good demonstration of what makes generalisations dangerous, eh? - especially when biassed data and small sample sizes are used to draw the conclusions.
In truth, my own experience is that given the chance, people are pretty much the same the world over - surprisingly so IMHO.
I may not be as good as I once was, but I'm as good once as I always was.
The North Shore was a nice place twenty years ago, then they came along and malled the crap out of it. 99% of its character is gone, in moved the trendy twats (who couldn't stand a bit of chicken pooh and called for the culling of one of Albany's coolest icons) and the price of a pint went through the roof.
Cruisy live bands in the garden bar of the Albany on a Sunday arvo was a great way to round out a Sunday, you could take the kids too.
I reckon the whole area has lost its soul and direction.
