Marton to mountain 2009

Does anyone have information about this event at all? I think it is supposed to happen on march 29th.

Where: Cooks Bar and Cafe, Broadway, Marton
District (Region): Rangitikei (RANGITIKEI-HOROWHENUA-MANAWATU-TARARUA)
Directions: SHI betwseen Bulls and Hunterville, head West to Marton. Cooks is between the only two roundabouts on the only shopping street in town! From Bulls, turn right towards Taihape, then Left at Wellington Road. Continue through Marton, Cooks is on your right just through the roundabout. From Hunterville, turn right at Calico Line, then Left at Tutainui Road. Go through the roundabout and Cooks is on the left just before you reach the second roundabout.

This ride is a fundraiser for Rangitikei College. All monies raised will directly benefit the students of the College by providing equipment, books and materials for their classes and sporting activities

The weather was ideal for the ride yesterday and my guess 150 - 200 bikes turned up for a pleasant day's ride. Here's a couple of photos. It wasn't possible to get all bikes in one shot as they were parked all over the place.

Well done to the organisers for a very well run event. The marshalls who you weren't meant to overtake must have kittens when some moron on a chopper and not part of the event went flying past and doing some risky overtaking.
