Its not bloody rocket science is it! "I'm on telly this morning, better check my appearance"
The mother-in-law can grow a pretty good mo bless her but she whips it off if she's going out or expecting visitors etc.
For christs sake most blokes would shave before going on the telly!?

I think it takes more balls to appear on T.V with that kinda mo than most of the guys commenting against it in this thread have. Who cares, she doesn't.

    I love her reply though.

"It's trademark Paul Henry and there are bigger issues in the world to worry about - like people dying of leukaemia from French [nuclear] testing. I think he likes being controversial - that's a polite way to put it. This is who I am and people make choices about who they are. "I have a really wonderful family, three gorgeous kids, a loving husband, great friends, really challenging job that I do part-time around all the other things I do in my life, and I love my life. "I'm secure with myself and I feel sorry that these people are so insecure about either their own appearance or mine. This is not about me, it's about them."

He's a little wank stain of a man, who would be too gutless to offend the woman to her face.
A great example of the low standards accepted by broadcasting agency's in NZ.

If the tosser feels the need to publicly rub salt into a persons physical appearance using a massive media like public morning television just to get his silly little jollies, then I believe my opinion of the little tosser is well backed.
The fact that he only pops up on "fluff television" speaks volumes of his credentials.
International reporter, investigator he most certainly is not. I do not need to slip on shit, to know it is shit.

So going by your standards anyone appearing on the tele that opposes the wire rope barriers (BRONZ) is 'fair game.' Or is fair game just those that do not share your views?

I can just imagine the howls or outrage on here if Henry read out adverse comments from veiwers emails after the BRONZ 'spokesman' had finished and gone off air.

This is not about pressure groups, fair game or anything else. It's just common decency and good manners. Henry has neither. It is sexism at its very worst.

Agreed and you do not need to see shit to know it's shit when you can smell it.

I have no doubt Mr Henry would do exactly that if the BRONZ person was some mouth breathing troglodyte in a leather jacket.

This is entertainment, fluff for the great unwashed.
I'll bet their viewing figures have gone up now after Henry's unfortunate comments. Living rooms all over the country are filled with quivering anticipation waiting to be deliciously outraged by his next faux pax ...the chattering classes love it.

He may well do, but that is not the point that I raised.

According to you (1)anyone who belongs to a pressure group is fair game for riducule even if this pressure group is acting in 'your' interests. If this is not the case then I can only conclude (2) 'fair game' is anyone who shares a different view other than your own

Which is it (1) or (2)?

Probably (1), keeping in mind that the last pressure group I belonged to was HART and they were subjected to a fair bit of abuse and ridicule.

BTW - I was thinking about your remark saying that Henry's comments were sexist. I don't see how, as it was a remark about her personal appearance, rather than women as a whole. For example there have been plenty of comments in the media about Koro Wetere's "comb-over" (I heard a comment on National Radio just the other day, by coincidence) - is this sexist?

In fact, how does this differ from the subject matter?
Is it only bad to comment on a woman's appearance?
