    Whoose gotta scanna ?

Whose got a scanner we can use together, close to where I work in Mt Roskill,or close to where I sleep in Henderson.I found some old photos in my mothers collection that would be good to get on the computer.I have a scanner somewhere, but it's old windows 95 stuff and won't work on my new stuff.

Not too sure if its helpful or not but...

If you can still connect your scanner to your computer, like if its a parallel port connection or suchlike, you can use an excellent peice of software called VueScan, which works with just about any scanner, to make some pretty good scans with old scanners.

I used VueScan on my Macintosh, to get an old Hewlett-Packard Scanjet 5P SCSI scanner working.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

The marcomms guys here in the office have all sorts of sexy scanny gear, but then we're in Northcote, so you'd have to be pretty keen. But if you don't have any other good options and you want to bring the photos out, you're welcome to come see me and use the facilities.

I've got an old scanner you could use, a Mustek 600 III EP Plus. It can do 300dpi and 24bit colour, I think. It's pretty slow though. It uses the parallel port.
I'd be happy to lend it to you or if you've only got a few photos I could scan them for you here and put them on cd.
I'm kinda in between Mt Roskill and Henderson though.
