I guess some people will never truely understand what quality gaming really is. Yes I can do the PS2 or Xbox thing but that'll allways be a poor sustitute for a fully decked out PC on a good network. However if your limited on funds then I'd go for the Xbox.

shame they cant get the games to be completly bug free due to the varying hardware used... unlike a console...
how many patches have you applied to your PC games since you bought them????

I have not needed to patch any games at all, just get the upgrades for free (extra maps etc). Generally speaking its the OS and other computer software that has been needing the patches. However after installing SP2 (XP home) and patching a couple of things my computer has been running blardy great (touch wood!).

Yes, but without the updates - no online play *shrug* not fun if your on 56k getting the gay 50mb patches..

I used to download them at night while I was on dial up, worked quite well. But yes jetstream is bliss...

Funny how whenever a debate about PS2 and Xbox comes up, someone always mentions PC's. The poll was about consoles, not PC's. Kind of like saying whats better, a GSXR1000 or R1 and someone says that the RC211V is a better option...

Anywayz, I have a good reason (currently) for liking PS2 over Xbox. Ever tried playing an xbox with one hand?? I have, and it doesn't work. Where as a PS2 controller, well there hasn't been a game made yet for that console that I can't master, um er, do reasonably well at then. Also, got a grouse drifting game from Japan (Kaido 2 Chain Reaction) that only comes out on the PS.

patch/updrade... same shit... why do you think they make an upgrade? it's not for the money (free), its not for the love of it (coz they love money) its coz the friggin thing has bugs and people have found them!!! have you looked at release notes for your "upgrade"? "fixed xyz graphics bug on level blah"
I've never seen a game that hasn't needed a patch for some reason... and considering I have NZ's biggest BHD clans' server sitting in my lounge (also includes BfV, Joint Ops, UT and a few other games... www.silentdeath.net.nz), I think I can say that with *some* expertise...

and I agree with OAB... this is about teh consoles....

and the only reason I got a ps2 in aug 2003 (this time.. it's my second) was gran turismo 4... still waiting ...

Yeah i know about PS2 moding (i had one b4 i got the xbox) ....as an example(not me

) but a "friend" has a moded xbox with a 160gb hdd, when he got it back from being upgraded(moded) it had 52 games, 20+ movies(some hadnt even been released yet) emulatores for ps1 and all ya fav old arcade games, and a heap of space of more games.....this all cost him $240 that he got back when he sold his games that he no longer needed....seemed pretty good to me, as for quality:spudwhat: cant say i notice anything between the 2......but this is all just my opinion.

cool... the games I really wanna play don't come on x-pox so it dont really bother me... but my PS2 isn't modded... If I want a game i'll pay for it so they can make better ones.... I only have about 6 - 10 games anyway... all motor racing of some description... gran turismo set, F1, McGrath something, ducati world, rally sumfin, etc, etc. (oops.. have medal of honour too)

MX unleashed
and i (oops i mean my friend) can play old school favs like road rash 3d

but yeah i get ya....i unfortunatly have to share with the kids, so i need lots of games to keep the whole family happy, the wify even has buffy.
