    My Bandit arrived!

Hi all, I'm fairly new to the whole bike thing and even newer to these forums so now that my new GSF250 just arrived I thought I'd use it as a chance to introduce myself.

So now I've got my bike, got my license, got most of my gear all I have to do is get out there and get some practise. I've just gotten back from a 30min ride around the local streets, my first time on the new machine, so I'm making a start.

I posted a pic of my new bandit, unfortunately it's not a great picture but I couldn't be bothered swinging the bike around (it's quite a tight fit with a hill just in front of the photo and the house just to the left of it). I might add another one later if I remember.

    See ya around!

    Welcome to the site.
Nice looking bike to start your riding career on for sure.
Try and hook up with some Dunner's KB riders to get some good feedback and practice on the road with.
Ignore the local kb trolls, and enjoy yourself.

Cheers, I've been making the most of the fine weather and have been out for the last 3-4hrs cruising around Dunedin. Already my confidence has increased a huge amount, just need to work on those takeoffs, especially the ones on hills. Tomorrow's ment to be fine so that'll give me another day to play beore next week brings back necessities such as work.

Welcome Welcome Welcome. There is nothing like the new bike feeling, whether that be "new bike as in Brand new", or new bike as in "used but new to you".

    Enjoy........

Thanks for all the welcomes guys. I've been out and about all day so far and clocked up about 200km which has done wonders for my riding ability. I may even have seen some of you fellow Dunedinites out Portobello way (I was the one on the black bandit with one wing mirror who looked like he didn't have a clue what he was doing and was always so late to wave back you may have missed it).

That was my second ride for today, the first was out to Waihola via the Taire Mouth route and back. Now just need to let my butt recover and I'll see about heading out for another little trip. Soon I'll be confident enough to see about going out and riding with some of you guys, so long as no one minds being held up a bit.

    That's a good start mate.

I began on a Bandit myself, and they're brilliant bikes. Yours is the slightly earlier model - you'll find it has 45HP, rather than the later post-93 models which only had 40HP.

Cheers again guys, I've been very careful on it, when it comes down to it I'm just a wuss, I take corners slow and only get the revs up when I'm on big open straights, I'm sure I'll start speeding up around them bends, but I'll be taking my time. It's looking like a nice rain free week coming up so you can bet I'll be making the most of my evenings.

Thats a nice looking bike you got there. If nice weather happens upon us again id be keen for a blat out to portobello if you want a wing man.

(i'll probably be pulling the bike apart this weekend though, hopefully my fears are unjustified and i will be able to put it back together again.... )

    Nice nice bike.

    Watch out for the cagers.
