How many people love Revvin Kevin? Was he not one of THE fastest we've ever seen on two wheels? Did he bin it far too often when he didn't need to? Fuck yeah! But man...was he fucking fast on the day or what! He won a single world championship...but people call im a legend! (And in my eyes he is a legend). My point is...and always will be that Stoner is THE fastest racer you or I have probably ever seen. Spies will be the next one.
Hang on a mo..............what are we talking about here???

Fastest........in a straight line?, for a couple of laps.......on his own?, in a race with others?.

Your going to have to define your statement me thinks.

Of course he's 'fast' thats why Ducati employ him.
There is a difference between a fast rider and a fast racer. I dont belive Rossie has had his day yet, when he has he'll be driving a rally car from another Japanese manufacturer.

Lets hope Stoner does step up and become a racer, cant see becoming the total package that Rossie is for his sponsers some how.

Stoner is faster than rossi around most race tracks period...you can't compare the past with now...its not relivent...both on factory bikes [no one else with a Duc is quick mind]...both well sponsered and supported. and currently Rossi is left wanting. You can't argue that...ITS FACT.

But the fact that stoner fell off a couple of times last year Lost him the championship...Rossi didn't win it...Stoner lost it.
Your use of the word faster is somewhat strange.
By that definition, the Jap riders that regularly got the super sticky tyres in qualifying during the 80's and 90's are superstars, but can you name one?

As we discussed earlier, you don't win World Titles in practice.
If you substitute "winner" for "faster", Rossi's yer boy.

That was a pretty clever post for a dumbass... Stoner regularly sets the fastest lap (which has to be done during the race). But he is still learning the racecraft needed to beat Rossi. Even Rossi has been quoted saying the Stoner is never slow, only fast...

Um..er...no...everyone gets the same tyres this year.
    Last year?
    Who knows?
    Stoner definitely had more horsepower.

I was talking of the one off Bridgestone last two lap qualifiers that were frequently given to Jap riders.

No he won't. There's no major Japanese manufacturer teams left in Rallying.

Hah! There ya go again mate!

Stoner had more horsepower! Really? So now that Rossi's bike is FASTER in a straight line...we can all say (if) he beats Stoner it's all down to Rossi's bike yeah?

Have you been to a GP where these guys are riding? Have you been to that many GP's over the years? Have you raced and ridden to a reasonably high level? Do you know the difference between pace and stats?

I somehow doubt it. I think you're full of shit. You're not Rossi's manfriend are you?

I seem to recall them supplying tyres to Jap 500cc riders in the late 80's.

Bridgestone began supplying tyres for motorcycle racing in the 1980s, starting with the 250cc and 500cc classes of the All Japan Championships. Tadayuki Okada won Bridgestone's first series championship in 1989. At the Suzuka Grand Prix in the 1987 season, Honda works rider Dai Kobayashi entered as a wild card in the 250cc class and took a stunning victory to give Bridgestone its first podium in a world championship motorcycle race.

    Jeez, you need to relax.

Yes, I've been to a GP.
Actually I've been to quite a few GP's and was pit crew for a 250GP rider in the first two Aussie GP's (1989 & 1990? I forget). I was Team Manager for a good friend, and I still have some friends in the pits. If you look closely at the tape of the first Aussie race, you can clearly see me and me mate Kev wondering around the 500 grid assembled on the track.

I have met and spoken to Mr. Stoner (and his lovely wife), however aside from asking for an autograph, I haven't spoken to Signor Rossi.

You may be taking this waaay to seriously,my friend.
To take your mind of it, how about some pit girls?

Not any more. I'm pretty sure qualifying is done on race rubber now.

There's an interesting piece in the latest "Motocourse" about Rossi and his switch to Bridgestone.
It isn't surprising that it took him longer to adapt to a different tyre than it took him to adapt to a different bike
Haven't got time now I'm off for a few days on the bike. Bugger that wind!
