Yep. And it was a massive improvement on any of his previous showings at Jerez. And seeing as he blew Rossi and everyone else away at Qatar...I'm still struggling to see your argument? I for one and impressed that Stoner seems to have realized it's better to finish and get points if you can't win rather than bin it. There's quite a few tracks coming up that he'll go well at. And considering you and others all said something along the lines of "Anyone would think Stoners won the championship already"...look who's talking like that now?
It's for sure gonna be a great season...and I stand by my original thoughts. Stoner will win it this year. If Stoner doesn't win it...you'll be right and I'll congratulate you. If he does I'm sure you'll be man enough to do likewise!
Enjoy the racing!!!
Pete
English. Good...you do understand then! So then...you saying that because Rossi is ahead of Stoner after three rounds he's faster than Stoner yeah? I'm saying that he's not...that Stoner is a faster racer than Rossi...and will also beat him to the title this year. It was you that said in the early posts that I was counting my chickens prematurely wannit? That it was only pre season testing etc??? Well are you not now doing the same after three rounds?
So you see...I still stand by my thoughts that Stoner is faster than Rossi. As I also said...I'll be big enough to admit I got it wrong and congratulate you if I am. 14 rounds to go I believe?
Bring it on.
FFS If English is in fact your first language - logic does not feature in your list of faculties.
It is not down to the guy (or guys) himself. As I have sought to address - it's not a fucking running race - there's a machine in the equation.
That's why they say "We won".![]()
Think about it.......................
It's OK to disagree with me. I can't force you to be right.
Nuthin' wrong with my logic.
That's not my comment.
It's from the start of this thread, where Mr. Crasher says Stoner is still the faster rider. As you say this makes no sense at all because the only way to prove it would be to have them swap bikes on a variety of tracks under a variety of conditions.
Who cares? It would seem that the Yamaha is a shitload easier to ride and more than likely a better all round package.
As you can see for yourself...no one but Stoner can ride the Ducati fast.
I have no doubt Stoner could ride the Yamaha quickly...hell everyone can. But could Rossi ride the Ducati? We'll never know.
It's going to be a hard task to remove all changing variables to normalise a riders performance against a binary template for an unbiased evaluation of their ability to go around a race track to be carried out.
The infinite amount of continuous changing variables during a session on a motoGP bike suggests that riding fast is a matter of how well an individual adopts to an ever evolving local environment.
There are no doubt deeper philosophical aspects as well involved.
I personally never go deeper with my thoughts on the matter than the bottom of the Sunday night's popcorn bowl, however.
I'me coming around to the idea that this young whipa-snappa from Aussie can ride a bit.............. :-) , But are the personality issues i keep hearing true Denill ? , & is this undermining some support ?
The "Old-Dog" tricks of Rossi will run out eventually aye, His on camera & PR skills hold him in good stead in the public & journos eyes as well.
May they both fight it out "man to man" on the track & may we all get to enjoy !
Glen
