I for one and impressed that Stoner seems to have realized it's better to finish and get points if you can't win rather than bin it. There's quite a few tracks coming up that he'll go well at. And considering you and others all said something along the lines of "Anyone would think Stoners won the championship already"...look who's talking like that now?

It's for sure gonna be a great season...and I stand by my original thoughts. Stoner will win it this year. If Stoner doesn't win it...you'll be right and I'll congratulate you. If he does I'm sure you'll be man enough to do likewise!

    Enjoy the racing!!!

So in what language would "..still the faster rider." be true, then?

It was you that said in the early posts that I was counting my chickens prematurely wannit? That it was only pre season testing etc??? Well are you not now doing the same after three rounds?

So you see...I still stand by my thoughts that Stoner is faster than Rossi. As I also said...I'll be big enough to admit I got it wrong and congratulate you if I am. 14 rounds to go I believe?

    Bring it on.

    That's not my comment.

It's from the start of this thread, where Mr. Crasher says Stoner is still the faster rider. As you say this makes no sense at all because the only way to prove it would be to have them swap bikes on a variety of tracks under a variety of conditions.

As you can see for yourself...no one but Stoner can ride the Ducati fast.

I have no doubt Stoner could ride the Yamaha quickly...hell everyone can. But could Rossi ride the Ducati? We'll never know.

I seem to recall other riders winning on it.

You've actually proved my point - until we see Rossi su Rossi (Rossi on Red) you can't say Stoner is the fastest.

But you also have said if I'm not wrong that Rossi won the title last year so is faster? So make up your fucking mind! What will it be? So when I originally said Stoner was faster because he WAS a sec a lap quicker at that test...was I WRONG? Because Stoner beat Rossi at Qatar was I wrong? When Stoner was 2 sec a lap quicker in the wet at Montegi was he the fastest in the wet? So now...by your own admission...we'll have to see who wins the title. THAT'S how you originally said it could be judged was it not?

I said Rossi was the winning-est, and that it is impossible to use the word 'fastest" until they've swapped bikes.

Maybe you should increase/lower the dosage.

I saw him win in Barcelona last year, and he just pissed off from Rossi and Stoner. He is also not as receptive to Rossi's mind games...

Seems to me you simply back track and change your tune when it's pointed out to you you're doing it.

Oh and my dosage? I vary it according to the amount of bullshit I have to read.
Jeez If I knew I was going to start World war three I never would have dredged this back up.

    Go Rossi

The bites on this forum are so good I might give up fishing in the sea at this rate.

    /Back to the handbags...

Where have I changed my tune?
You're the only person that has said someone in MotoGP is faster or fastest (whatever the hell that means).
My response has always been that you can be as fast as you like, but its races and championships that counts.

So you don't change your tune or talk shit now and then? At the top we have...wait on...you understanding and shock horror...even agreeing that Stoner may be fast...or even the fastest.

Then with your latest 'post'...you don't understand? LIke I said...make up ya fucking mind!!

Me? All I've ever said is that I (and yes it's only my opinion) reckon Stoner is THE fastest racer on the planet. Not the 'winningest' The fastest. I'm sticking with it.

You have to make up your mind. In saying that you are subscribing to the theory that it's the 'rider' not the 'package'.
It's OK to disagree with me. I can't force you to be right.

Well, he did win the fastest-qualifier award last year.

    As did Gibernau in 2005.

I talk shit all the time...

Maybe you should go back and read the thread, I haven't changed anything.

And as for the "fastest", what the hell does that mean?
Why does the "fastest racer on the planet" come third?

    Doesn't he get excited...

Cause he's learnt to ride for points and bring it home so he can win another title!

I'm not the one saying "such and such is faster". That's just opinion - there's no way you can prove that in the real world. I did say that the only way to solve it was to have them back to back on the same bike, which is unlikely to happen. In that (dream) scenario if would certainly be the rider. In the real world it's the package.

The point is that "fastest" is irrelevant - it's who's the most consistent, and to certain extent, who has the luck.

True, Mr Stoner has grown up a lot lately.
I was impressed by what he said in the press conference afterward about being prepared to give up a place to George rather than push his front tyre to the max..

    Well said and very true.

Bet you've NEVER lost an argument Oscar.

You just deny what you say when it suits.

    So you never said:

    True dat

I thought that Rossi gave whore Gay, Stoner and Pedrosa a bit of a learn last night though by the way he passed each one slowly but steadily and gapped them.
