There is a nasty virus that has jumped onto the MSN instant message part.
I don't know much more except that you should ignore anything that doesn't start with http:// (etc)
It's not known if it has jumped onto the yahoo message server yet.

'Scuse me. Do you f**k as well as you dance?
Yea - my young'un got it last night on his comp. Nasty little f**cker (the virus). That computer uses NOD32 av & is having trouble. Seems the virus protects itself by jumping into the 'You have files waiting to be written to CD' thingy to avoid being deleted.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?
Havent got it but signing out of messenger now
To every man upon this earth
Death cometh sooner or late
And how can a man die better
Than facing fearful odds
For the ashes of his fathers
And the temples of his Gods
Guys, guys, calm the feck down.

There.
You will not be infected by anything unless you OPEN FILES PEOPLE SEND YOU.
OK? It's not the Messenger program itself that's been compromised, it's just being used as a delivery system for the good old "here, run this - teehee" style of virus.
So just maintain a policy of not accepting file transfers. Chatting is fine.
Now, someone get online and talk to me. I'm bored.

I don't think it's that one. Seems to transfer without 'assistance'

Update - I did several runs of NOD, coupled with a run of Spybot & deleting "files waiting....." (folder showed empty, but there were files in it), then shutdown. Then I rebooted, ran Nod again. All gone. Yay!! The original infestation included about 8 different file names which I failed to take a note of, but one of them referred to a frog.

Hey, kids! Captain Hero here with Getting Laid Tip 213 - The Backrub Buddy!
Find a chick who’s just been dumped and comfort her by massaging her shoulders, and soon, she’ll be massaging your prostate.
Sory Babyb a mate of mine sent it to me. Well he probably opened it and then when i opened it it kinda spammed everyone on my msn list ...... and so the cycle continues. Not to worry it's a stupid auto install worm that all you gotta do is either use your rich mans antivirus ... or do it my way and go deleting all the traces of auto install programs manually grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.Originally Posted by babyB

And the ones she got were sort of rotten and insane...
Flaws were identified along time ago and I was informed that the intregrity could not be gaurnteed if I continued using it, so I disabled it.![]()
Those who insist on perfect safety, don't have the balls to live in the real world.
