    Question Track Day

Has the price gone up again to hire the track? One year ago it was $450 midweek - obviously with Puke closed they have alot more demand.
I have organised 3 days there and went to the BRM recently. We have had a couple of crashes but never hired the ambulance for the day. The BRM one we had to call for the ambo and they were there real quick - less than 10 mins. Just wonder if you really need one for the day as its rather expensive -just a thought? Apparently Taupo track is getting an up to date website with bookings - Does anyone know the web address??? Cheers

We had 60 people at our HMCC ride day and there was HEAPS of room, the main trick is to have the track used all the time, none of this everyone off, debrief then next group out crap. I would guess that for a few of us it would be a race bike setup kinda day which means a lot of time in the pits anyway.

As for the Ambo -If it was just me out there -I'd risk it but if one of you lot got badly hurt -I'd hate to be the one tellin ya -the ambos "only" 10 minutes away. I'm open to feedback on that one--cos true enuff itll make the track day heaps cheaper

I'ld take the risk of not having a ambo there, if we had our own KB medic's there. But then,, I'm only doing 180 km/h max on the KR150. And I haven't even confirmed I can be there yet.

I'ld be prepared to pay $100 if it meant smaller numbers. More track time!

As for the day, I think I have school on those weekdays, so I won't vote yet

Trust me dude --allowing 1X 15 minute session per group per hour you are gonna get about 8 track sessions at least -sitting there looking at a puter screen that dont sound like much--believe me -its HEAPs
I race in 2 classes usually so I get 6x 8 lap races -By the end of the day Im totally shagged. You lot are gonna get about 8 15 lap sessions
and this is allowing worst case senario with 2 hours wasted getting guys off the track and cleaning up crashes etc.

I hear what you're saying and for me thats exactly what its all about -setting the bike up --I like to work on a worst case senario re amout of track time so Noone feels theyve been ripped off.
The Idea is -one group gets waved in and the next group is on the dummy grid ready to go out. I really wanna avoid the slower guys getting intimidated by the fast guys at all costs.
also I dont want any dumb overtaking moves made out of pure frustration. --eg you're setting up ya race 125 and getting slowwed in the corners by a guy on a gsxr1000

I was there with a group of 15 on the track, i found it a good number, personally i dont think you would want to mant more as its such a short circuit. two groups of 15 would be ok but 4 groups of 15 (60 riders)? man thats like only 12-15 mins per hour riding then a 45 mins wait!

The idea is to get 15 minutes every 45. hey if it turns out that only 20 guys n gals sighn up then hey there will only be two groups.
For some guys/gals itll be a first track experience so I dont want em intimidated by the really fast guys.
The amount of track time will depend on how many turn up but Im sure there will be plenty for everyone.
