CDMTCI Manfeild Track Day, 19 April 2009

Our next track day is Sunday 19 April so put it in your diary now! Please note the slightly increased cost for the track day - the cost of hiring the track has increased and unfortunately we have to pass that on.

Just $50 per person (no cheques). Novice, medium, fast and race sessions.
All glass to be taped, bikes to be of WOF standard. Must be under 85db to comply with Manfeild regulations.
Riders must hold and present a NZ motorcycle licence.
Full bike gear to be worn - minimum gear: motorcycle boots, Draggin Jeans, motorcycle jacket, gloves and helmet.

Sign in and scrutineering strictly between 8.30am and 9.30am.
Maximum number of 120 bikes, first in first served. NO prebookings.
CDMTCI reserves the right to refuse entry and/or to expel any rider who does not comply with event rules on the day.

This is arguably New Zealand's cheapest and best-run track day, just ask anyone who's been to one in the last 20 years!

For more information, please contact club president Andrew Pugh on 0274 463 870.

Good - and make sure you drop off any bad weather you may collect from down your way on the trip up!

What are the rules on installing cameras on the bike for the trackday? Do they have to be those tiny little cameras or can I use a decent camera with handlebars mounts?

I have no idea and think it would be a good idea to give Andrew (number in first post) a call regarding this. I would imagine it would be down to whether it would be acceptable at scrutineering - in other words, if it had the potential to cause damage to you or other people in the event of an accident. I don't know if this matter has ever been raised before but Andrew, as club president, would be the one to make a ruling on it. Any camera, I would imagine, would have to be mounted safely to whatever it was mounted to, and not cause any obstruction. Let us know what Andrew says.

There were a few questions in the CDMTCI part of this site about our next track day, so feel free to check that out - it was regarding whether a learner's licence would be okay for the track day and other things.

How many are you allowing out onto the track in each class?
If you are riding a 150 Streetstock Race bike does that mean that they are only allowed to go into the Race class or can they go into the Novice class especially if its only their 2nd time on the bike and they are no where as fast as some of those bigger cc race bikes out there?

I'm bringing the two bikes and a mates using one !
Sort of hoping the tag/sticker ya get (that only allows you to ride in the class ya chose) will be on say ya helmet, as we will be swapping bikes, but he wont be going anywhere near the race class !
Just cause the bike he's riding may have numbers on, don't mean he'll be riding at race pace, though sometimes your safer in that group (once ya get ya head around the fact they'll be going past at twice your pace and just stick to yr line)
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

    Bowls can wait !
