Excellent day out once again Big thanks to CDMTC for putting on another superb track day. Had a great time in the medium on the Daytona's first track outing, managing 1:26/7 ish without pushing too hard. Yeah, biggish crowd but co-operation and good organisation made it very enjoyable.
It's only Rock and Roll but I like it

Great day. Probably have to camp overnight at the gate next time to be assured a spot. So how many did you sign up in the end did you draw the line at 180? I know one poor chap that got turned away!

There was only half a dozen people behind us.......we were very pleased to get signed up.

VERY well run day, given the numbers.

Numbers is right, shit there was a hell mob there today ! Was kinda fun sitting on the fence today !
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

    Bowls can wait !

    Loooonnngggggg day

I left Wellington at 5.30am got to the track at 7am and was first in line, within 10 minutes there was a growing que behind ma.
Shit there must have been at least 200 entrants there.
Good weather and a cheap track day, i got about 3 and a half sessions in but im not complaining oh only two compliants, the guy on the GPZ in the race group shouldnt have been out there even the 125's were faster than him on the straights and i hear some dickhead (who wasnt a marshal) ran across the track during a race group session to help pick up a fallen bike and then run back across the track! i hope the organizers gave him a kick up the arse.
Got home at 6pm had two stiff bourbons and fell asleep in me rocking chair.
    NOT RACING ANYMORE SNIFF SNIFF

I wasnt really that happy with the amount of people, expected more track time, I guess for $50 it wasnt too bad but still expected a bit more time given it was stated that the max was 120.

In saying that the sessions ran a lot more smoother than some I have been to and apart from the numbers, was pretty well organised

The weather was excellent, the turn out was fantastic and the amount of different makes and models of bikes that turned up on the day was Great. Well Done CDMTCI and the volunteers for a well run track day, but I have 1 question and that being. Why wasn't sign on done alot earlier and the bikes out on the track at 9am instead of 10am?.

I would imagine that is because not many of our members (and hence volunteers) live in Feilding, therefore all have to travel some distance to get to the track. As it is, when he goes along, my husband has to get up at 5.30am to get to the track by 7am. Contrary to popular belief, once they get there they do not sit on their arses with a coffee! They have to unlock everything they are using, set up tables, check the track for any debris, get the change float ready, sort out the dummy grid, etc, etc, etc. This all takes time. Sign on is done as early as practicable and I really doubt we could do it any earlier unless we started the night before. And before you ask, NO, that ain't going to happen!

Well, if that is the case, she should have sympathy for the organisers! I wasn't 'laying into' her, I was stating some of the reasons why you can't get out there on the track five minutes after you arrive.
