    Grip at Taupo

I was reading in a mag ( I think it was KiwiRider) that some work was done on the patches and seams on the corners at Taupo. New resin and grit to improve grip etc.

Has anyone who's ridden there recently noticed a difference...has it improved ...? do you trust it ? etc ...

    ???

It took me a while to trust riding over the new patches, but they seem to have plenty of grip. I still found my self trying to avoid them or not pushing too hard when riding on them. I am going to need another track session to get my brain into trusting the grip levels again.

They are gripier than the track.
They are also raised a tad and rather bumpy, making for a lovely surfy feeling as you run over them with the throttle pinned. (providing your suspension is set too hard)

im a newbie to bike track days , ridden there 3 times in the last few months
and found them a little unsettling, the grips fine its just the transition across the repairs and back to the suface. Nothing to worry about thou, its just the first few times , your not sure till you get a feel for it then its fine.

Yes - I think they're much improved now. Smoother and grippier. It still needs sorting out though.
