Just sorting out a way of getting there then will confirm with yah Tony.
just cos you're on a track, doesn't mean you have to play hard. Just means you can enjoy more of a ride without the hassle of other traffic. Just go in a slower group, and cruise round, plus you can say you've done the trackOriginally Posted by katman

Ill second bugjuice dude.
The idea is to ride at your own pace in a group of guys riding at the same sorta pace. iTs a place to experiment with ya brakes,Your handling of the bike. the whole range of stuff to learn

Interested but two questions
1. How long would it take to get to there from Auckland.
2. Does anyone know the situation regarding insurance on track days?
It takes me about 3 hours in my van going the matamata way -boring on a bike but its easy riding.
Re insurance -well I guess thats up to your insurance company.
Id suggest that you could quote the ltsa's description of a road.
I mean its a closed road but a road none the les.

hmm...sounds like fun. wouldn't mind coming along.
Hey Frosty, I'm keen as to come but I'd have just got back from Welly and the HRC track day the week b4. But if you need another flag marshall I might be able to make a day trip and help out!![]()
Just don't think I'll be up to a full track day so soon after my first one!![]()
1. depends if you're riding or driving, but would probably see about 3-4 hours. I might take the tent and camp down there.. depends.. But it's a pretty easy drive.Originally Posted by DonaldH
2. call your insurer and ask. Some companies are starting to allow 'track days' as long as it's not a competition or high-speed event as such. Specify that it is just a track day, with no competition involved. Else if they don't insure you, just ride real easy![]()
