Fortunately it isn't a joke, Soup quite often has x ama race bikes for sale.
If you convert the $59000USD to NZD it is about $105000 so it is still worth quite a bit. Great for the club day racer!
Mladin has been running the 08 for the last couple races, I guess they finally got the 09?

They now have a claiming rule in AMA I believe.
Meaning that anyone (well maybe not just anyone, but another racer) can walk up to any other team and buy their bike(s) off them.

    Anyone verify this?

I think that rule applies to the engines only?

It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.

Mat's bike definitely for sale. They have the '09s now.
The '08 for sale was apparently retieved from some dealership, unassembled and the crate covered in dust, some time before Daytona.
An interesting fact is this bike is undefeated in AMA Superbike competition - 5 races, 5 wins.
Mladin and Yosh making a point re AMA/DMG trying to 'even out' the field by dumbing down the machinery from close to WSB to Superstock. Hah!

    Cheers

It used to be the rule for Daytona, you could claim the winning bike and the price was set, I think it was about $5000 or something (a few years ago now). I believe that they ditched the rule because teams ended up buying back their bikes from opportunists who didn't actually want the bike, just to make a quick buck. A bit like the pricks who buy 7's tickets then sell them on trademe
