    Unhappy One Last Ride. Farewell North Island... (24th July)

    Hello there fellow bikers.

    Right, heres the crack...

    I am moving from wee Whakatane in the sunny Bay of Plenty, to the wet coldness of Christchurch

    I was wondering if anyone was in/near the following areas to advise of road conditions;

    *Rotorua
    *Taupo
    *Waiouru
    *Palmerston North
    *Wellington
    *Anywhere between Picton-Christchurch on SH1

    I was also wondering if anyone would care to join me for the ride (or part-of). Obviously it would be a 1-way trip for me, but im really keen to make it a bit of a weekend thing.

    I will most likely heading down on Friday the 24th of this month and staying the night in Wellington. I am then catching the ferry to Picton and heading down to Christchurch on the Saturday.

    If anyone has any ideas of good stop-off points or detours, feel free to say so (especially if you are wanting to come along)

    If you do come along, i will be stopping every hour or so to give my legs a stretch ( im a bloody lanky bastard on a 250) and a drink and smoke etc...

    Cheers!!!!

    The roads will be what they are in front of your eyes, ride later in the morn's if there is ice about, take care enjoy your ride to CC, if it is fine take some time out to view the seals north of Kaikoura, a good place to stop for 5 but if there are heaps around the buggars stink a bit...

    Hey bro, I'd see ya off, just to vegas, but I'm nursing stitches atm.

    Theres a little bit of ice grit on the rotomas and through the cutting north of rotoiti.

    What an epic trip, bud, have a great time!
