OHLINS for R6

Hurro, I've just gone and purchased an Ohlins rear shock for my R6. I am told it has already been set up for an 83 kg person. I happen to also be 83 kgs on the dot.

Question is since I live in Auckland who can I go to to fit this rear shock? I know RT is the shit but he's over in NP. Suggestions ... ?

If it doesn't require any setting up, any monkey that can swap shocks should do, just get someone you trust, who will do a good job. Botany Honda have fitted several ohlins shocks for Zapf.

Getting someone like RT is for the servicing of the shock, setting it up, etc. (Well, he can obviously fit them as well, but I mean the knowledge required for pulling it apart etc).

I fitted mine... not hard as long as you can support the bike while the swingarm hangs, gizz a yell if you need a hand (no stripped threads this time eh?)

Bring it round to my place bro, should be able to have it done within half an hour, but would say to allow an hour depending on how much shit needs to be removed get the old one out. Atleast I'll turn the nuts/bolts the right way

Also have a torque wrench if you have a workshop manual with required torques for the bolts.

you have to add the weight of your gear to Raj ie 83kgs + leathers, helmet etc, unless you've decided to start riding naked?

Being a motoGP bike you shouldn't have take any thing off.....

E-mail me the spec code off the shock before you fit it. Stamped into the cylinder head ( the top casting that everything screws onto ) will be a YA prefix followed by a 4 number suffix. If you also advise what all the numbers on the spring are. I can then clarify if the springing etc is ''in the window'' for you and also e-mail you a copy of the mounting instructions, base settings and a set up manual. If you know the previous owners that may also enlighten me as to whether the setup is suitable for you.

THIS SO OFTEN HAPPENS AND I HATE PEOPLE BEING RIPPED OFF BY UNSCRUPULOUS SELLERS!!!! ( Please also be aware of people misrepresenting themselves as Ohlins specialists, I can name those who have had specific training and who I trust to do the job properly )

Fitting of that shock is not a biggie but it is a bit of a gnarlier job than saying fitting to a GSXR.
