This thread makes me feel like a fag. I need to get some hardcore injuries. Excuse me while I go out to the gargre and grab my un-suspensioned Purple Cobra and go ride down the stairs backwards with no clothes on. Then I might be cool enough! But not yet

I was riding pushbikes when I was a kid,so prangs were a part of life.I remember one day I ran over a hollowstone block in the road, when I got up a couple of girls who were watching (um,why do you think I wasn't looking where I was going?) said all concerned like ''are you all right?''....'uh,yeah,I'm all right' then pedaled off,but a bit further down the road my feet kept slipping off the pedals, and I saw my legs covered in blood.Dumb girls, always causing accidents.

My worst prang was going downhill really fast when I was 14 - a little kid ran out in front of me,then went the otherway....then back again! Too late and I ran him down - my first experiance of watching the skin peel off the palms of my hands in slow motion.I was really tangled in the bike and the little guy was a mess - I had water on the knee and got 6 weeks off school that knee still has reoccouring water on the knee, just gone down a couple of months ago after a 2 year stay.

Ever gone down a sandy road as fast as you could on your Raleigh 20 and slammed on the front brakes to see what would happen?

Most recently for me was about 6 months ago, I flipped my bike riding down a staircase onto Palliser Rd (Mt Vic). Nice set of horizontal lines down my chest from each step. Had an audience too.

Only two that I can recall:
(1.) Maraka Peak MTB Park a few years back, went to attempt a jump got too much front brake hit a stone or something, and ended up going over the jump head first without my bike.
Somehow landed on my collarbone, flicked onto my back and slid feet first for several metres on a 4wd track. Smashed the back of my helmet on the track, and the whole back of it fell out.
Broke my the outside end of R/H collarbone. Needed a hook plate to be inserted for several months, off work on ACC for six weeks, plate came out, and took me about six months to get back to where I was before the accident.
Got quite a nice scar where the plate was inserted.

(2.) Going fast down a 4wd track, ran out of track and hit a drain that had been cut out of the track by rain. Went over the handle bars (again) but this time just landed on my back. Was winded for about three days. Only a few dents on the helmet this time.

I go a bit slower down hill now.

Haha, I only have been injured um.,...... never mind
To every man upon this earth
    Death cometh sooner or late
And how can a man die better
    Than facing fearful odds
For the ashes of his fathers
And the temples of his Gods
