Ninja 250R feedback

Hey all, its been some time since i posted so thought id treat you with an update on my riding on the Ninja 250r. Being my first bike, its has been so much fun. The latest bit of fun was being out at pukekohe racetrack, improves your riding ability and confidence so much when you spend time with the instructors and the people that know how to ride. It is completely different to road riding, so good in fact that my Ninja might end up being a racebike in the future. I was passing people on the outside of Ford Hill corner fully lent over doing 120-130kmph, its the most exhilarating experience out there. Of course you dont need to be that much of a maniac

Bike is currently at 18000kms after a year of riding, no problems at all and will be in for its next service real soon. The only advice i can give 250 owners, is to learn how to ride your bike silly! Get so good that your skills outperform your bike, then look to upgrade. That does not mean riding like an idiot, just learn how to corner properly, gearshift, be smooth. Best way to learn that, is on the track under a watchful eye and i did. Best money you will ever spend on your bike.

Thanks for the post. I totally agree that getting out to the track makes a difference. I went out to pukekohe racetrack for an Advanced Riders Training day with the Auckland Motorcycle Club. Good to have all the advice on tap and on track. Totally transformed the way I ride.

I also learn't about centrifugal forces, engine compression and what happens when you change down from 5th into 3rd at 100kpm by mistake! Nothing a brused ego and some plastic welding to solve.

If you want to avoid false neutrals kick your foot up and release the clutch before you let your foot down.

I discoverede something interesting about the wee ninja.its possible to lighten the factory muffler by about 1kg. ohh ok only about 500g but its possible to remove a couple of internal bits
