Fixing extension 'Send To' version 0.3 to work with Firefox 1.5.
This plug-in is great because it allows you to send text you like from Firefox into a text file. I've collected nearly 1mb of tips, tricks and jokes from kiwibiker in the past 6 months. You can therefore image how disappointed I was to find it stop working with Firefox 1.5. Plug-in home is here. I've been also unable to locate an alternative plug-in and contacting the owner had no influence.
Fortunately, I've found a work around. So here's how you can do it yourself, or just read this as a FYI regarding what changed in the attached copy.
Copy the install file into a new empty directory
Rename it's extension from .xpi to .zip
Extract to same directory and delete zip file
Open in text editor file install.rdf
Find tag maxVersion and replace it's value of 1.0 with 1.5
Save and close text editor
Zip up everything in this empty directory
Rename new zip file extension from .zip to .xpi
Install into Firefox
Attached is my fixed version just encase some people can't or don't want to go through those steps. Unfortunately due to upload rules, you'll still have to delete the .zip part of the file name.
