    Manfeild Trackday, 11 May

    Hey folks,
Lloyd (rz2rf on KB) has organised another trackday at Manfeild on May 11.
This is the third one Lloyd and his wife Jo have organised.
These days are PRIMO! Lots of track time, Brian Bernard in attendance to offer coaching and advice, Jo puts lunch on (I do Lloyd and Jo's topdressing for them, and get fed muffins, cinnamon pinwheels etc.... to which I regularly score 18 out of 10) all for $100.00 for the day. Bargain!
Quite a few KBers have done these days.... and everyone was smiles all round.
    Lloyd can be contacted on: 06 763 8455, or 027 204 0810

Don't bother with PMs... Lloyd's dial up speed is about 1 byte per minute, so he doesn't come on to KB much. Heaps better to give him a call.

    See you guys there!

This is one unbeatable track day, i'll sure as hell be there again ! Having Brian Bernard and Gareth Jones there was an absolute bonus ! The info those guys can impart is invaluable and could probably say the learn i got from these guys at Lloyd and Jo's last trackday, would deffinately have helped in my achieving a good result on sunday !
Well worth taking a day off to attend ! See ya there Pussy !
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

    Bowls can wait !

Will I just ride my pace because I surely know that all my oxygen that I breath will turn into smoke from other bikers. It somehow become a habit when everything pull away from me out of the corners, and I meant everything from Scorpio to Gn to Scooter to Bicycle. What's the program like for the day?

Well the idea is to turn up have a yarn walk the track perhaps, so ya know what its doing where get a few ideas of lines from the likes of brian bernard and gareth if he's there too then ride around and around !
If ya stuck with a corner or how to speed up wherever, ya just have a word to one of them and they'll follow ya for a lap, then jump in front tapping the tail which means follow ! Thats all after youve been out a couple of times, stopped back in the stalls to talk suspension !
Brian had me try several different settings on the day, learnt to read tyres, learnt why the arse was chattering into corners (cause i was to scared to corner)
Yeah pretty much round and round !
End of the day you'll be slicing past in the corners flicking the litre bikes kill switches off !
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

Now that's is cool . So what do I need to prepare for the day? Because I live in Welly and will need to travel to see Pussy and Gassit before heading there. New tyres? Mine are new Sport Demon. Anything?

So looking forward to see everyone there.

Softer the compound the better ! Unless it's a cold day (but won't go there as i'm still learning about rubber and that comment is aimed more at race tyres me thinks) but sticky is good !
Check ya front pads are more than 2 or 3mm, back brakes are only any good for riding across grass ! Change ya oil if it's close to being due, so it can handle a ringing out !
Back protector is a good idea if ya got one !
Don't go out with road pressures in ya tyres !

Couldnt tell ya with your tyres but if thats what they spec for the road drop em a couple and see how it feels ! For instance when i was on road tyres i used to reduce the rear from 42 to 30 !
Still aint learnt the science of it well enough to make comment as your tyres are different, but thats the beauty of having someone like brian there (pick his brains)

Coool, i broke my track cherry on the last one and cluttered myself with too much of the inconsequential. So it'd be great to go again and work slowly through the discipline... Just need to shift a few things on the calendar and figure out whether to stay the night again, or just ride up...

Having said that I was in a fook load of pain when I got home that night and could hardly climb off the Prila... Just wish I had a tow bar as I might be able to lay my hands on a bike trailer... Hmmm, a question for the forums i guess...

Hope to see ya there Puthy... (mother in law finally went 3 weeks ago)
    I didn't think!!! I experimented!!!
