    Pix wanted for BHST Course

I am looking for pix of injuries that you have been unfortunate to receive by not wearing the proper safety gear
    Or
Pix of gear after it had done its job after an oops

Soon to be Basic Handling Skills Test Instructor

Just finished the "I" endorsement driving instructors course and would like some pix to show the importance of wearing the proper gear at all times.
    Thanks in advance
    Gordon

Best to get peoples permission to use their pix since I am going to be paid to run the course and by posting them here consent is implied and given for me to use their pix. Credit has to be given to the person who owns the pix.

I would hate to be slapped with any legal stuff by assuming or ripping off other peoples stuff.

True .. .so search and then ask them .. I think you will find that most the pics are off the internet rather than personal experience.

Great call there chap.. I'm in the process right now of filing 'legal stuff' against a company that ripped off my photos :-)

Turns out its not cheap for them to steal photos after all!

:-) Good luck and well done getting your I6!

    Pics as promised..

Heres a few photos of my gear after my crash...

You'll probably notice the hole in the glove, which did this: http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/at...3&d=1219213833

Jagged rocks on the side of the road will tear your gloves to shit if you're going fast enough. But the small difference that they did make meant that I kept the use of my right hand, I was millimeters off loosing the use of it.

The helmet needed tightening before I took off on my jaunt after filling up, I thought I would be sweet because I was stopping in 20 minutes after going over coro hill. Helmet ended up popping up when I came off and tore my bottom lip and chin off my jaw from the inside. 20+ stitches in my mouth to re-attach that. Helmets a lot cleaner than it was...

Pants and Boots did a pretty good job, still got smashed around, so I still went from Wheelchair > office chair (Wheelchair couldnt fit through the doorways in our house) then to crutches after that.

Jacket didnt have that much damage to it, just scratches all over the front, maybe I slid on my front for a while, not sure, cant remember anything.

I will get a few photos of my leathers up to show how a $2000 suit can save you many times as a contrast if you like...
To be fair all my bins in the leathers have been off a bucket racer, but the point is they do a better job than jeans or worse, shorts, at the same speed.
    It makes a good contrast.

    Many Thanks

It quite sobering to see the results and read the comments about your gear.
If our misfortune can in some way ensure that others will wear the proper gear correctly, then maybe they can be spared a bit of pain.
thanks for the response its been wonderful that one can talk about their experience and I hope that in some way it will bring healing to each of you.
    many thanks again
    Gordon
