i dont want to sound cocky or arrogant but if i find the slow group to be too slow after the first session, would it be possible to try out the middle group?

No worries. People get hung up on the speed thing. It is not a race day. Yep the fast bikes will go out on their own and put on a great show but the Newbie's are put together to ride at an appropriate speed. I hope they have a lead bike to keep things tidy for the first few laps. The second or average group of bikes, appears to be the biggest, is also a chance to ride at a comfortable speed. Some go flat out and some just get the feel of their bikes in a safe environment. Chance to test breaking gear changes etc in corners. Hit the rev limiter if you want but for me it is a chance to try different cornering techniques etc. If the races in the mid rang get going well and hit good speeds they will soon move up with the fast bikes. It is a great day for all. Even if it rains still go. You learn a lot in the rainOriginally Posted by cammo

From what I have seen at track days that is what you should do. No good going to fast in a group that wants time to ride with out someone lapping them ever 90 seconds. No shame in coming down from the top group to the mid rang if you are holding them up. Mind you I am not an organiser of this day and it is only how I see other track days. if I am incorrect Frosty will soon tell me.Originally Posted by cammo
dude basicly everybody will be being watched and if anyone is going either a lot faster or slower than the rest of their group they will be asked to change groups.Originally Posted by cammo
The group thing is in order to avoid accidents especially with a speed diferential.
