Stop at Whakamaru quite a lot but I have only used this place once and that was just for coffee (which was ok.) Do see quite a few bikers using it tho' so probably is reasonable. Be aware that if you want to drink alcohol you can only drink it on the deck until 3:00pm (or thereabouts) thanks to the RMA and grumpy neighbours.

What the hell are you doing stopping at Whakamaru? Jesus. Just go to Tokoroa or Taupo.

It's a little place out in the middle of nowhere with pizza and beer... and an excuse for a ride to somewhere a little different.

And for the tagger, yes any more than one beer is a bad idea.
