100 kph to o kph in 0.01 sec

100 kph to 0 kph in 0.01 secs
This is the first time in four weeks that I’m able to get out of bed and sit at this computer after “I’m sorry I didn’t look” from a van driver.
I was riding along at the legal limit (100kph) on my now written off Bandit with a mate after picking up his new bike (k100) in Masterton. We were on our way back to the Kapiti Coast via Woodville and the Manawatu Gorge The dick head came from a side road at full tilt without looking to his right. He told the cops that he was trying to get out on the highway before an 18-wheeler truck that was coming the other way. I never even saw him. I hit the side of the van and took off in the air, first taking a rather large bite out of the tank then the instruments, screen and fairing with my nuts. Lucky for me that I flew and didn’t dissolve into the side of the van other wise I don’t think I would be here now. I awoke in Palmerston North Hospital. I never broke a bone but I have major bruising to my meat and two veg and I hope my legs and feet will soon be ok so I can get a new bike and get back on the road. Can’t wait!
No question as to whose fault as there were several witnesses to the event.. He has been charged with careless driving causing injury.
No more Black Bandit ----- BUGGER!

Ooooh....involuntary clench of the guts & tears to the eye. And that's just for the bike. Hope you fully mend real soon.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

    Hello and welcome :spudwave:

Shit- sorry to hear that. It could have been worse etc etc.

A bit of frienldy advice, I gather it's usually courtesy to log on here and introduce yourself before nearly getting wiped out, as opposed to coming on here and reminding us about all the pricks that drive on our roads and telling us all about how you nearly rode to the pearly gates on a lovely black Bandit with wings. But I think I speak for most when I say were glad your here and in one piece anyway

While the rest of us encourage it as being the next national sport.

Might be a good time to trade up to a Honda?

Ouch mate, best of luck with your recovery
To every man upon this earth
    Death cometh sooner or late
And how can a man die better
    Than facing fearful odds
For the ashes of his fathers
And the temples of his Gods
