When riding, I absolutely love singing the song of the Viking from "Sadko":

The Song of the Viking by Rimski-Korsakov

The lyrics can be roughly translated as follows:

The sea waves rage against the rocks
but broken they retreat in a cloud of spray
    And the rocks steadfastly withstand
this ceaseless assault of the sea
    Proudly standing above the water

Those steadfast rocks are in Vikings' very bones
and the raging sea is in their veins
And their cunning thoughts are like fogs of their motherland
They are born of the sea and in the sea they will die

Vikings' swords are sharp and their arrows are true
bringing a swift demise to the enemy
Courageous are the people of the northern lands
    Mighty is Odin their god
    and their sea is cruel

    Pretty cool, aye?

"People are stupid ... almost anyone will believe almost anything. Because people are stupid, they will believe a lie because they want to believe it's true, or because they are afraid it might be true. People's heads are full of knowledge, facts, and beliefs, and most of it is false, yet they think it all true ... they can only rarely tell the difference between a lie and the truth, and yet they are confident they can, and so all are easier to fool." -- Wizard's First Rule

I found myself singing Abba's Gimme gimme gimme a man after midnight while trail riding over Tar Hill at Tokoroa on the weekend. Now I have the bruises to prove it!

Im embarrassed to admit but for some reason that songs been my head for days! Where did it come from???

Normally the song in my head is the last song i hear in the shower. If i dont have the radio on i wont get a song in my head for the whole day.

Whatever's in my head aye. Abba is thoroughly singable. :slap: Although that song on Clerks 2, Nothing But Flowers is a favourite. (You got it, you got it)

Lately I've been getting this stuck in my head, but I think that has a lot to do with it being my current ring tone.

i generally have ipod playing, so mostly im singing along to sister hazel and shawn mullins. just a shame they arent better known over here. i can safely thank shawn for making high school somewhat bearable. the only thing that kept me going was his album souls core.
i also make sure i have leaving on a jet plane and i am, i said... just cant go without them when riding... they have the same effect as shawn and sister hazel. they have the added bonus of reminding me to not ride beyond my limit and that anything can happen.

sister hazel video: champagne high http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LnFc7MRZgDI
mandolin moon is a better song, but theres no video for it yet.

shawn mullins video: beautiful wreck http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m1r_u...rom=PL&index=6
