Thanks everyone. Will clean the pipe and carb and see how it goes.

That brings another question, what makes 2 stroke bikes blow very well? How did GIJOE1313's A100 blow?

If you can make it on Kiwibiker you can make it anywhere.

no, 1st thing to do is also the easiest, unscrew the plug and check it! if the plug is good, proceed to checking air filter, then check to see if carb is gummed up or blocked pilots!

Haha well, during the Cape Reinga Challenge his A100 got a hole on the cylinder head didn't it? Is that common? lol

You want your bike to do that lol? You want it to blow up very well

Two strokes are a bit more sensitive to setup, yeah. That's why you make sure it's got exactly the right sort of plug, ignition timing is spot-on, and the carb is operating exactly as it should be.

But on the plus side, if you do hole a piston like Pippi did, it's as cheap as chips to chuck a new piston and rings in, and very simple even monkeys can do it. The bike would go better than ever afterwards too.

No I'm not planning on blowing this bike! (Atleast till next week)

Today I was talking to a guy at Cycletreads. I asked him about a puncture repair kit for tubed tyres, well he said "it's not a job you can do at the side of the road..." Hmmm that worries me...

But yea, will clean carb and clean the baffle waffle. I think it's the baffle...

GIJoe's bike holed a piston because the baffle flew out of the exhaust! He wanted to fix it with damper but we bandaged her all up for the transporting home. Did he fix 'er?

    The result

OK I took it to the shop this morning. They opened it up and found something.

It was not the dirty carb.
It was not the spark plug.
It was not the dirty baffle.

The bike's cylinder head(?) of somekind's pin was loose, and that rattled and made a hole on the head. Hence the low compression and the "why-won't-it-start" theory. God knows how I safely rode it down to the shop.

The parts going to take 7 to 10 days to arrive. Mean while I'll be fucked

Tried every single bike hire shop in Christchurch. No ones willing to hire a 250 to a 19 year old.

Besides, the repair is going to cost me enough already.

Well I will still have the plan with me.

Right, that will be the ring end gap locating pin that has spat it ? So you need a new piston/rings put in? Bugger! Hope things work out for you dude!

Yes, they said the damage was.... unnatural. He wants me to see it so I'm going back there to have a look at it myself. Might take a few shots.

I am expecting to have the top half of the engine replaced (well thats what he said!).
