    CAMs Ch-ch

Ok so we all know the cams club is in the shit... but there is some members in the club giving it the big push along, I for one would like to see a new CAMs club evolve it is well over due.
The new push behind the club has introduced buckets and pre 89 to cams, a up comming street race... but he is still strugling and needs some support... any one prepeared to help, by means of input 'youth and enthusasm'

The reason I post is the main push, after their efforts has quit, I can only asume to a lack of back up etc.
    cheers DD

    Really?

I've been on the committe for a while npow and this is news to me. "In the shit" inplies poor leadership, infighting and bankrupt. This club in the reverse of all 3. The pres is very good, committee great (excude me...) and finances fine. The real truth it's a club with a sound structure but looking for new direction to double/triple it's "customer base". That this hasn't naturally is a result of 2 thinks.
    1) Riders with these interests are well satisfied with a "eats roots and leaves" basis at plenty of BEARS and streets circuit events available.
So they don't have a need to be in CAMS.
    2) The "old gaurd" of the club haven't been active in embracing supporting new input/members. In fact the contrary. In many cases, being arrogant and
ceratianly not welcoming to new members. Remember the silly bugger wandering around the pits a year or so back rubbishing everything he saw. That wasn't a problem. The problem was that he was inentified as "representative" of CAMS.

Now I agree Dangerous, CAMS needs new interest to take it forward to full sized well supportedted meetings. To make fanancially work this inevitably means including fringe classes that are not classic, such as Buckets / Streetstock etc. But we all know (and it's proven) that these classes cross polinate and create new interest in classics, "bums on seats".

Yep count me in on this intiative, I've already been working on it for years and it just needs a final endorsement of the already supportive and existing pre82/89 / bucket community. They are the future in view

Get along to the AGM meeting on 30th May, give you best on the track AND in the Meeting room

I'm describing the situation of the last year or two(3,4,5 etc)
The Pres IS good, the committee IS good. I'm only just aware of a bit of concern etc This is the "day to day" timeframe, and we all know what happens when keen and passionate people are doing their best at times. With all the best of intentions the'res often a bit of a "head butt" Of all people you and I should know that!
In my first post I forgot to credit you with the tremendous effort you (and rashika) put into Bucket racing in chch over a few years. You have done a VERY good job and is reflected in a well run, safe scene of good racing and fun we know as buckets in Canterbury today. Well done. I sure hope some of your enthusiam and magic touch can come through to help the classic scene find it's new direction
