    Oopsie at Kiwi Track Day

Well my fourth track day didn't exactly go well - Pukekohe 11 April

It was a crap day but I was so buzzing to get out there.....perhaps a little too eager.

My group was called and the rain came down. The first two laps we did the manditory follow around, and then we were off.....so to speak!!!!

I hit castrol corner, accelerated out of the corner and the back wheel spun out from under me and BANG I hit the ground!

I thought sweet I'm okay, looked up and shit - 8 bikes coming for me. Went to get up off the track and couldn't move.......I lay on the track hoping like hell the bikes coming towards me had control and could miss me. Phew they did.

Next minute all the fabulous guys from Kiwi Track Days were at my side calming me down and telling me I'll be okay. The ambulance came and then again shit! They had to cut my leathers off me!!!! Thankfully Steve from Kiwi Track Days reminded me I had insurance so no drama.

So they were sticking needles in me, poking, proding and giving me some gooooooood drugs, but all I kept yelling was how is my bike? How is my baby bike? One of the guys from Kiwi Track Days said to me he rode it back to the pits. After I was told that I was able to relax and enjoy my drugs.

Well after two days in hospital I'm out recovering from a broken arm and a cracked hip. I'm really lucky - it could have been a whole heap worse!

Thanks heaps to the team from Kiwi Track Days - you guys really looked after me and calmed me down....not to mention, Steve my friends who came to get my car and bike thought you were hot ha! Also heaps of thanks to Patricia who I've met through AMCC who also ran around after me.

Well, I'm fully insured so the bike will be back on the road soon I hope and I'll totally be out there again.

A word of warning from my experience - always make sure you check your tyres before getting on the bike....

    Hope you OK Leanne.
So it was a a highside then?
You know i would come and visit but its a hell of a long drive from Wellington Chick.
Hope you heal up quickly and when you have, you will need to assess what went wrong, make the adjustments to your riding style and machine, so you can get round the headf#@k, dont fell bad or stupid or anything else, it happens to eveyone, think of it as part of your initiation mate.
Take it easy and enjoy the paid time off.

Sorry to hear your bad news. I hope you heal well, and that this doesn't dent your confidence.
Just remember - this could've happened to anyone. Lookit all the professional racers who crash on the first corner, even in the dry!
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

Sorry to hear that Billie !
Never nice to see someone hurtin !
So them fun..i mean airbags wern't inlated enough to give ya some bounce then ?
Save me some space on ya cast !
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

    Bowls can wait !

What was wrong with your tyres? Too low pressures for the wet or something?
