No pressure on rear brake!

My rear brake pedal has absolutley no preassure what so ever! Doesnt even push any fluid though the lines. I found a leak by the rubber boot at the rear of the foot pedal. Is it possible to reseal the rubber boot or do I have to a replace the entire rear master cylinder?

...Oh yeah my bike is a Hyosung GT250r. This has been the first day it hasnt rained all week and I get stuck at home with this sh*t!!! arrggg...

Its an 07...Im the second owner and its clicked over 12000ks...I dont think its still under warranty, but it wont hurt for me to check.

It's probably a sprotsbike. They also have rear brakes for decoration only.

You should be able to get a master cylinder seal kit from the distributor for not too much $$ - couple of hours would do the job. Make sure the cylinder bore is not scored otherwise you will waste your money on the seal kit.

Pretty sure Hoysung in NZ have 2 year warranties like the other makers, so if purchased new in, say April 07 its still covered. Warranty should transfer between owners.

IF you can get a kit (you can for all cars) then this is the quick and easy solution.

Get someone knowledgeable to supervise, and just do it yourself - its not hard at all, and the consequences of stuffing up the REAR brake rebuild is not enormous - NOT SO for the fronts. If it were fronts, I would say dont touch them. The trickyish part is getting the bubbles out once its reassembled, but still not rocket science.

Hey there, my 08 GT250r did this as well!!!! what it was is the piston in the rear master cylinder had seized up and was all rusty???? part number 69609hn9100 - hyosung replaced the whole thing resv/hose/everything

Thanks everyone for the help! I found out a couple of things other hyobag owners might find useful.

2 year warranty came into effect in 2008 (stink for me)
Hyosung or dealers dont have reseal kits for this bike.
New Rear master brake assessmbly cost $295 not including delivery. (there was also a 3-4week wait as they had to be ordered from overseas).
2nd Hand master brake assessembly can be found for $100.

Yep I found that the piston had seized at the top of the bore. Wasn't so much from rust but from heaps of gunk! A good clean of the piston and bore and I replaced the rubber boot and it was all go. Replaced brake fluid and bleed the line and got rid of all the bubbles! Have to find a new cotter pin though as my one looks like its had better days.
