    Are these bids genuine?

I'm selling my car and got a lot of people bidding who have never bought anything off trademe before.

    Genuine or BS?

At the moment i would say for real,85 clicks is pretty impressive for an old girl like that, looks very tidy indeed.

They certainly look genuine. Dale has obviously put in an autobid, hence so many so close together.

I'm also selling a car on tardeme http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/List...x?id=212533093
Just a listing at this stage though, maybe an auction later on, so I'll be watching your one with interest. (picked up a 3 yr old Kia Sorento this afternoon)

And the autobid has now reached its limit or else it would have topped $1,000 by 5 or 10 dollars, not just one.

Both the accounts were registered a couple of months ago. So they're not likely to be fake accounts.

As the others said, the number of bids is a consequence of the autobid function. One bidder is going up in small increments and the TradeMe system is automatically placing incremental bids on behalf of the other buyer.

It is doing well considering it doesn't finish until friday.
I would think they are genuine bids. I had a trademe account I rarely use, but then I do have a few more points to my name than them...
I'm gonna make it so PC

I'm such an innocent, can someone explain why you would put a none genuine offer on an auction please.

Btw I think the price looks about right for the age and miles, good luck.

I would be more concerned re the history:

Reading Date Source or reason Usage (avg), /day/year
    84,606 2009, April 9th WOF inspection 22.57/8,217
    84,131 2009, March 19th WOF inspection 42.96/15,637
    74,510 2008, August 7th WOF inspection 35.82/13,038
    63,227 2007, September 27th WOF inspection 2.00/728
    63,215 2007, September 21st WOF inspection 22.29/8,112
    61,031 2007, June 15th WOF inspection 55.02/20,027

Clearly failed WOF in 2007, and in 2009.

And why did you not pay the man for the music you won? $10 he wanted for those classics...

May the bridges I burn light the way.

A seller may get a mate or use a false account to push a vehicles value up.

A buyer may do the same, if he is selling a similar product - making his more attractive by a) increasing the price of the competing seller and b) demonstrating to potential buyers that it is a typical price for the product.

At least thats why I do it.
