    Ginger Molloy in Waikato Hospital

Ginger Molloy had a fall (not on the track though) and is in Waikato Hospital. He is now out of the coma but still has a long way to go before the brain is healed properly. (Now is the time to get him back for all his high jinks as he can't remember anything.)Seriously folks if you want to sent him a card he is in Ward 8 Waikato Hospital. Hopefully if you included memories of things he has done it will jog his memory a bit and bring back that cheeky ginga that we all love.

Will get something in the mail today.

That sux... he's a bit of a legend, but some folks will never have heard of him. Won a GP, raced against Ago... I bet he has a few stories to tell.

Yeah, high jinks uncountable. What'd the old ginga do to himself?

    Card sent.

    Ginger Molloy

had been out trail riding and missed the bottom step coming down some steps and hit the back of his head thus causing the brain injury. He might have been tired or just bad luck we don't really know. He has no bandages around the head but he had brain fluid and blood coming out when admitted so was put into a coma. He now has to wait and see. The quietest we have ever known Ginger to be. He still does not remember ever racing or where he is so heaps of cards might remind him and if you have any funny pictures of him up to his usual shenanigans send them in too.We want to see his cheeky grin back and see him knowing what a "sexy nurse" is again and then we will know he's on the mend.

Did you tell him I found these old pics in my Bro's collection of Ginger at the 1972 Onekawa Grand Prix:

    - back in the days when Geoff Perry and Trevor Discombe were stiff competition.

    Heal soon old bugger.

Remind him of the Marlboro Series days when he raced the Harley Davidson.

    Ginger sitting up in chair

Ginger is now able to sit in a lazy boy. Still not recognising anybody but is looking hard at photos as if he knows that person. I have told him it is him playing up at Pukekohe. I showed him pictures of him racing but they don't get any reaction at all. He now is not strapped down as he realises that if he pulls the tubes out he gets strapped to the bed so that means he is taking something in. He mentioned the Bultacos so that is another positive sign. The Jelaca boys go and see him every day and talk to him about the Bultacos and how they all race them with him so he is getting plenty of company encouraging him to remember. once he is well enough to start rehab we hope that he will remember things and get back to his cheeky self.
