I have put some rules and guidelines below to help us avoid some of the issues that occurred with the 2009 calendar.

Rules & Guidelines for Submitting Photos
    • Maximum of five photos per member.
    • You can submit photos throughout the year.
    • Once you have submitted more photos than the allocated limit, the extras will most likely be ignored.
    • The judges will not guarantee that any extras will be included in the selection process; however, they reserve the right to keep any exceptional photos in the running even if they were submitted after the member's limit.
    • Each image should be in the best format and highest possible resolution you can provide (please resize them so are not over 10meg). If you send a poor version of your file it won't be selected for printing. This is to avoid any potential delays caused by getting the selected photos ready for printing.
    • Images can only be submitted via email to calendar@kiwibiker.co.nz.
    • Each submitted photograph, in its entirety, must be a single work taken by the individual member. You cannot submit a photograph taken by someone else unless you have that person's explicit permission. (please do not add a watermark or simlar to your picture, your nick is added to photo before being printed, to show who has taken it)
    • Submissions must not have been previously published and no other party has claim or interest in the photograph.
    • The photo must have been taken in 2009.
    • The final photos will be selected by a number of KB members. These people could be photographers or those involved in producing the final calendar.

    Note:
When you submit photos, please look at the photos you submitting first. Look at the background and determine what else is there. We do not want to see your car, underwear drying on the clothesline, or dirty garage, etc.

The calendar should ideally include a range of photos, ranging from sports bikes, dirt bikes, cruisers, scooters, or adventure bikes. If you have a photo you like, go ahead and submit it because you never know.

These rules/guidelines are subject to change and improvement, so keep checking back.

I'll obviously be submitting photos Neil, will probably be later on though, want to get a few more first.

P.S. I dont mind taking up a couple of months if theres not enough interest

Yes. Someone has to make the effort since very few others appear to be interested! Photos don't submit themselves, y'know.

Is the intention for the photo to be of a bike itself, or can it be scenary shots with a bike in it?

What about a shot like pain on a riders face as they come off for the first time?

Or how about a rider flying through the air after a high side?

Is the calendar a not-for-profit activity, or does someone financially benefit from it?
Who owns the copyright of the photo once it is submitted into the competition?
