when you head over lookout point and head off down the motorway, make sure you dont go over 50kph till you get to the 100kph zone. it's easy to get up speed down the hill to soon and i know of a few people that have failed because of that.

Make sure you do "visible" head movements (not just eye movements) when checking your mirrors.. & do headchecks over your shoulder when lane changing, pulling out, turning etc! Good luck!

You know all this bike-riding crap don't you? It's easy - don't be nervous. Just go for a ride and just enjoy yourself and don't break any laws. They will say "congrats" and give you your full - just like that.

Um, might pay to practice some tight U turns though. And yeah, ride all confident-like and don't speed or anything suspect at all. I got stopped ten minutes into my 6F test and he just wrote the license out "you look like you know what you are doing".

Heh, when I did my test he said "left at the roundabout - turn left" and somehow my brain went to sleep until the last second and I was going straight through, when I rectified the situation with a massive bar-push followed a solid 90 degree swerve to the left He must have thought "shit, this guy looks pro"

"I did axactly as you said and it worked...!!"
    "Wow, Great advise there DB."

    been a while

    Howdy all
I'm new to the list and just got a bike but have had 6L for the LOT of years.
Following on from the current thread what time period would be sufficient to go for the restricted. I'm reasonably confident riding around town but I guess a bit more practice never hurts.

I'm not sure if they will ask you about it in the R's, probably not but good practice for when you go for your full. If/when they ask about hazards, just say everything is a hazard!!

Also, wear a hi-vis vest, show up early, be polite and friendly, don't act cocky and you should do well.
What you have in your heart will be revealed through what you have in your life.

If things are going badly in our circumstances, the answer to what is happening to us outwardly is more often than not found in the mirror.

    Thumbs up Thanks Everyone!

I used everyone's helpful hints and passed! Now I can ride the Harley worry free!

I must have got the Tester without the "K" name. He was older and friendly but he didn't say his name.

Oddly enough, I didn't have to do any "U" turns or answer any questions about hazards. he did have me pull over after every once in a while so he could do his paperwork. I was nervous but I just kept telling myself that as long as the the test continues that means I'm passing.

I Celebrated by stopping off at McGiver & Veitch and purchasing a new Shoei Multitec Flip-up helmet. Nice and quiet with the whisper attachment and I love the pinlock visor! I wish now I had listened to the advice on this board and bought a quality helmet from the start. I went through 3 cheap helmets in a year and was never satisfied with at least one feature of each of them. The money spent on those cheap helmets would have paid for half the Shoei.

Sadly, now I'll sell off the GN250 and replace it with a mid-sized bike.
