    Yamaha XJ6

Hey a new bike from Yamaha called the XJ6 has come to Australia.. Does anyone know if it will come here?
The XJ6 looks like a facelifted FZ6, but the problem is that the 600cc engine only give 78hp and not 100hp like FZ6.

I think it's the renamed Diversion, which has a detuned version of the detuned FZ6 lump. horses for courses, should be around 13000

Looks like its designed to pull the SV650 market off Suzuki. A tasty piece of kit too.

I see on tard me that Red Baron have one in stock. Price $13699 , not much less than the FZ6 and alot more than its competition(er6f, gsx650f ). At that price might aswell front up a little more coin and get the fully tuned FZ6.

The XJ models have steel frame too, so they're not part of the FZ6 range.

Best bet is to talk to a Yamaha dealer. They struggled to sell FZ6's here, but the XJ may appeal to the ER-6/SV650 crowd.

It'll probably be a lot nicer to ride than an FZ and I wouldn't pay too much attention to the claimed HP figure. The FZ6 I tried was buzzy and irritating and had no midrange at all. The suspension made no sense until you were riding at illegal speeds, so I'm not sure what the FZ6 is for. The R6 is a better sportsbike and the R1 a better commuter/tourer.

Yeah maybe the XJ6 is getting back to where the old 600 Fazer used to be (not to sure wether that ever made it to NZ), that used to be popular as hell in the UK/Europe as I understand it, because it was a great, good value all rounder middle weight that was FUN to ride.
The new Kawasaki ER6F is a very smart looking bike too.

there was a writeup on it in this months bikerider magazine...not a bad looker, but I aint too interested....Yamaha would get my attention if they did a revamped XS650...but the XJ range does not appeal much top me

The new Diversion is the faired version of the XJ6.
