    New Zealand Dollar

With the NZ dollar rising to over 70 cents US and making great waves everywhere else, it's time to get those credit cards buzzing.
All those goodies in catalogs from American and Europe are suddenly more affordable.
My wee card has been working overtime in the last few days as direct importation or internet transactions undercut all stock currently held in NZ under the lower extange rate.
So come on people, take advantage of this situation and lets see more performance and 'Bling' goodies on the KB bikes!
    It's never been better*

    Nooooo don't!!

The interest rates here remain higher than most developed nations, particularly on credit cards. Too much spending on credit will just make the penny pinchers think of ways of stemming the use of credit by increasing interest rates.

I believe the secret is that when the govt says spend, as they want to make more tax - don't. That way they will have to think of more ways to make you part with you money - by reducing interest rates!!

Pay by cash by all means, but don't buy things on credit with the intention of payng it back over months and months.

    Credit Cards- Bad news
To every man upon this earth
    Death cometh sooner or late
And how can a man die better
    Than facing fearful odds
For the ashes of his fathers
And the temples of his Gods

Both things used sensibly are fine. There are many a good deal to be had by ordering online/offshore at the moment.

    Somewhat.

Back in the UK they offer 0% rate credit cards, normally 6 month introductory offers. Grrrreat fun!!

Buy a spanking new TV from here, take you time paying for it, then in month 5 apply for a new 0% card. Woohooo!!

One of the banks even offered a cash withdrawal option at 0%. So I would borrow up to my limit, deposit it in a high interest savings account. 6 months later pay back what I borrowed and pocket the hundreds of pounds bank interest!

    Hurry up NZ!

    Why do you say that??

I've bought thousands of dollars of stuff from auzzie and the states (mainly off ebay) using my credit card. Never ever been ripped off, and saved quite a bit of money in the process.

I for one will be buying some motorbike gear off ebay in the next week or so. Just have to be careful you don't get stung with import duty and gst.
