Right, I'm done! All except for a muffler[coming] and a couple of fixings. Took it for a very noisy ride around the block and figured that it needs a tune up and then wof/reg and it is a goer! Anyone wanna buy it? It will be for sale when road tested and running properly. Can you spot the indicators? Also only polished one bit, the fork brace. Has done nearly 48k miles[UK import]

    Looking good mate

Edit: though if I were to do this Project myself I'd do the red paint scheme. The green is a bit much for my taste lol

That's a wicked job! It's amazing how well it came out. It must of taken lots of work.

I have fond memories of these bikes too, in their day.

Probably a few well-placed stickers or something will break it up, giving it a finished look.

Thanks guys for all your comments, I personally hate stickers, If I am not being sponsored then they are the 1st thing I remove normally. I will leave that to the next owner!

Oh yeah, I realised that and I agree it would break it up and make it look more finished but, hang on, should I get some Harley stickers for it?
Fuck, that would be a laugh!

Hey you might be able to help me out here, ive just got a 85 gpz600r and i cant get the front wheel off. I have a size 12 allen key and ive tried loosening the pinch bolt on the side ive been told has the nut (stand side) and the axle just spins even though the other pinch bolt is very tight. Do i need two size 12 allen keys so i can hold the axle side and turn the nut with the other?
    Thanks

Looking nice! You got some skills! I like the classic Italian (is it?) one of your past project bike.

    Very impressive Laava.

I figured my 10 yr old son is ready for this stuff and bought a run down Honda Minitrail off TM. Last week he stripped it down to it's smallest parts and is currently hand sanding the frame for priming and painting.

He's taken to the strip down and rebuild like a duck to water. Quote of the week from him came one night when we were sitting watching a movie. "Dad, I love the ratchet." After using ring and open enders the ratchet and socket take you to a whole new world. I can only imagine what it was like when the first ratchet's were being sold. Mechanics the world over would have been having dreams about them.

It's bought back a lot of fond memories for me. I'd forgotten how enjoyable it all was in those early years.

Good luck with the bike sale.
