Best single motorcycle roadrace event in NZ?

Veiws on whats the best event and why. It can be as a spectator or competitor.
Maybe theres a formula for running such events. Discuss what aspects you as a racer or watcher like.

Sound of Thunder? Wanganui? Nationals? Road Race Spectacular? Burt Munro? Classic Festival? Paeroa? Greymouth? Club Series?

ive gotta say of all the meets ive attended so far it'd have to be the nelson street race. good crowd, nice track, lots and lots of racing and a good day all round.

unfortunatly i didn't make greymouth but itll be nice to compare.

Sound Of Thunder....3 days(incl 1 test day) on my favourite track in NZ for $110 (including Transponders), hundreds of sexy bikes and sounds everywhere, loads of races to enter ( I did 8 but could have done more), totally well organised, big BAR at the track ,meet the coolest folk, and have a total blast

    AWESOME!

    I don't have to, but I agree.
Unlike a national meeting, there's actual racers there (!), enjoying themselves & being sociable. Also something about free meat and beer...
Sound of Thunder would be great - my bike makes the appropriate noises but there is something terrible about things made in japan? Isn't that where most `screamin eagle' parts are made?? Please enlighten.

Not many bikes run singles so it would have to be any Motard event especially Wangas and Paeros

As a racer... Greymouth street race, its about geography, the people, atmosphere, track, fresh air and racing as it was.

Next would be the battle of the buckets, cos its 1hr of fuking fun, compition, decent folk and snow.

    put a poll up.
    cheers DD

Id pick the Classic Festival for the best blend of racing & social scene.
For pure hard out adrenaline on the track its Paeroa.

I'd have to say that the Vicclub series is the most well organised events I've been to so far!!

One race though it would have to be Wanganui! First time racing there last year and it was soooooo much fun!!

As a spectator it would have to be up there with the best event.............but 2 litres of Jim beam in one day makes anything fun............the day after .......not so much.......

Wanganui, its been running for over 50 years, great racing, great circuit, coolest name "Cemetery Circuit" (Cliffhanger is second coolest name) great crowds an EVENT It is great to watch and GREAT to compete every racer must do at least one.
Imagine being in the Ace Cafe in London, modestly mentioning being a bike racer from NZ... and then having to admit you'd never done the "Cemetery Circuit"
