Replacing fork oil?

Hi All.

I have got some fork oil but i am totally lost as to how to replace it. If someone could give me some pointers that would be great thanks!

It's straightforward, and yet it's not. A workshop manual would help A LOT.
I dunno if the RGV has drain bolts at the bottom of the sliders, but if it doesn, you can undo those and squirt the oil out. Otherwise, you'll need to take the fork caps off, and turn the bike upside down. Alternatively, you'll need to loosen the fork caps while the forks are still on the bike (so the triple clamps hold the fork tubes from turning. Then remove the front wheel, mudguard, etc. remove the forks, remove the fork caps, and tip the oil out, working the forks up/down to help it out. Then flush with kerosene.

To refill, you need to add fork oil to a specified level measured from the top of the fork tubes, with the forks fully compressed, and with all bubbles flushed out of the oil by gently pumping the forks.

Then reassemble everything.

vifferman is right. You cant realy just "change the oil." You should flush them out fully.

You can do it yourself. It's just nuts and bolts. No rocket science.

Remember to replace the drain screw BEFORE carefully measuring and filling the oil.
