Buy a bike with some stump-pulling torque and save the Christmas tree lights for the other poofs to play with. Rippling coloured lights that nobody else can see is a serious onanism. I'm surprised they don't come in pink or pastel shades.

Having three different colours allows you to set them to illuminate at different rev ranges allowing a wide range of uses. These are not just a shift light for maximum revs.

And it appears there are some thin-skinned, ghey, underpowered sportsbike riders with no sense of humour amongst us.

All a shift light like on your R1 did is tell you when to shift.

There was actually someone that requested some light to be a mixed blue/red to give a weird purple effect... kinda looked good, but after reading that I'm not about to post a pic he hee...

Ahh..well. I've got plenty of trackriders, a rally driver and even a top professional using it now, but I enjoy a good taunt every now and then

Funnily enough I prefer to watch the corner, my braking point, my turn in point, my roll off point, and my apex - not a fucken light show on my bikes dash board!

    Geesh... lighten up!

I don't think you quite understand the purpose for it. It's not some light show you stare at! It replaces the tacho which you can't see while "watch the corner, my braking point, my turn in point, my roll off point, and my apex" with something you CAN see in your periperal vision, and only the information (section of RPM) you need to know about.

I bet you don't use the tacho at the moment... yet its information of benefit that can improve your riding. You just haven't been able to use it. Check out Valentinos bike and the F1 cars, cos they use these types of display too!

So as you say, its your preference not to use such devices and I can respect that. I would appreciate it though if your comments/critisisms are more constructive than a sterotype comment.

obviously, you're just too good a rider for all this modern trickery then...

Oh wkid_one, I only wish I was as well versed as you obviously are in bike control. Damn, after riding for only 18yrs I should realise something like this has no pratical use. Still, put me down for a set.

Because on a 250 they not only make a fuck load of noise, but also take quite a long time to reach the red line. 15000rpm sounds quite similar to 20000rpm when you are concentrating on the road and not the engine! To be able to give it death and never look at your tacho is a great thing on a 250. You dont need to look at the light to know when to shift, it is bright enough in yout peripheral vision.
