    Blue smoke on cold start?

    any suggestions hard to start when cold as well

    White/Blue smoke on startup IME indicates worn valve guides.

    motor was overhald by prevouis owner

    It is probably a silly thing to say however are you using the choke now the air temp is a little lower?

    OR are you really in Canada and things are now warming up (less choke required)?

    Also, is the blue smoke only when the bike is cold, or does it do it when the bike is warm too?

    only smokes cold

    Yup most likly guides or guide seals.

    Quality or budget overhaul? is the question and were the guides re done and new valves fitted?

    got bike from friend not sure also drtips gas bottom carbs hoping its only carb problem friends are telling me same as you hope not to tare motor down could carbs be part of the problem

    two different poblems imo
