    Proud Daddy!

My 19 year old son who is in first year at Kingston University studying Motorcycle Engineering has just built and raced an "Alternative Energy" electric drag bike.
Built in "spare" time over the past 6 weeks, to compete at the Alternative Energy event at Santa Pod Raceway yesterday, supported by the University and LiFeBatt batteries, he has built the rolling chassis and helped install the electrics / electronics, then rode it to the fastest "no emmissions" vehicle on the day!

He's been on bikes since about 9 years old, had 4 seasons as a Junior Drag Bike racer, and has run my Top Gas bike to a 10.6 / 124mph as well.

    SERIOUSLY proud of him!!

Sorry about this, but 14.998 is NOT "a 15 second quarter"

    IT'S A 14 SECOND QUARTER !!!

and the current UK record is 14.4.

    P.S. in the US, the "Killacycle" has done 7.89 @ 174mph !!!!

Can ya bung some more AAA's on it and get that 1/2 a second to take the UK record? Well done though, good effort in such a short time.

Talking Update on the Electric bike

Just had a call from him - have a look at www.superbike.co.uk\news\electric drag bike.

He has also been offered a trip to this year's Isle Of Man TT racing - to compete in the Ramsey Sprint on the electric bike !!!

I had to pay my own way over there, and he's getting it free !!

all he has to do is keep himself in food/booze - jammy sod !!!

I suppose I'll have to go down to the pub to celebrate for him
