Several years ago there was an accident reported in the media where the car caught fire and a would be rescurer tried to save a young lady from the flames but her seat belt had jammed and her couldnt get her out before the flames engulfed her and he was beaten back. That mental picture disturbed me to the point I now always keep a small knife in the glovebox of the car, to cut seatbelts with.

You can buy a small emergency tool for cutting seatbelts and breaking windows, they're cheap and very handy to pop into your glovebox or tool kit on the bike. Sarge should have them, he works for Sulco and I used to sell them when I was with the company.

He knows he did the best he could but yet it'll be hard to put the other people out of his mind. I'd like to think I'd have no problems doing the same but I'm sure I couldn't deal with the after thoughts of the incident, that would haunt me for a long time.

Yes what an horrific situation to be in! That man is most definitely a hero. I got a wee bit choked up watching him talk about it on TV news last night.
