    Want your cat/sub muffler removed?

I got my cat/sub muffler removed and a mid-pipe made up. Looks pretty factory, sounds great and has noticeably more top end power. Crisper throttle response too.

Pics attached. Cost $300 fitted in Auckland. PM me if you want any details.

Quite a few people asked me how I got it done, where and how much at a recent track day at Pukekohe so thought I'd post for those interested.

What did it look like before? My cat looks like a cat that's been swallowed by a python.

My guess is, it sounds great and has noticeably more top end power. Crisper throttle response too.

That is a very neat job.

    Was a non-cat tune required?

I had planned to buy a second exhaust as I expect NZ will intruduce compulsory Cats for newer bikes at some time in the future.

I've got a PC3 so downloaded the appropriate map. From what I've heard, it should run fine without one.

    Lovely!
I'd like to do that with my cat, but... it's a bit more complex than that: it has four small headers coming into it and one big mid pipe coming out (see my profile pic).
It's also a pain because it goes under the lower shock linkage, limiting how much rear ride height I can dial in.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....
