First step would be to rock up at Kaitoke on Sunday, shame you didn't post last week before the Easter meet, if you'd turned up with a set of leathers you could have taken my bike for a spin. You can have a go on it this weekend if you like, but you'd have to drag yourself up to Auckland to do it. Chances are if you head to Kaitoke this weekend you may still get a ride, the Wellington folk are a top bunch of folk, if it wasn't for the people down there we wouldn't keep heading down whenever we can regardless of the fact that it's an awesome track.

I take it the next meeting is on the 20th of May? Im interested in feeding my life long bike addiction through the application of buckets into my life. I have a bike that can be persuaded into racing, but would like to try a few laps before I take the disc grinder to an otherwise servicable and practical form of transport. I have been delving through some 54 pages of bucket threads and am feeling quite overwhelmed with all the info, although I have a few questions

My main question for you is what sprocket gearing would your run on a stock b grade rg50 around kaitoke?

Best place to get protectors to put on the axles and bars? (or are there more spots?)

What form of koha would be appreciated for a few laps?

11T front 50 rear on a screamer engine, but just the 11T would probably do for a std bike.
Don't you look at my accountant.

I've already pimped mine out for the next round so can't help.
Casual rides are a bit of a shit on Kart run days, really you would prob have to enter the full day for the $45 it costs for non-member entry.

Nylon, Acetal (Best!), UHMWPE are plastics you can use, see what you can find about the place.

Chopping boards, skateboard wheels, (Not the cheap ones!) and all sorts of other things can be used.

There are more spots: pegs, pipes, foot-levers, frame protrusions and more.

Common sense plays a part but some parts you normally wouldn't think about can touch down in a decent crash
Don't forget to think about the way the bike can roll, pitch and flip.

Obviously you aren't going to be able to coat the whole thing in nylon but you need to go real hard on it because it's very important.

20mm think. hole saws / hacksaw / drill and you can make what ever custom shapes you need.
I ordered of this guy and I had it in a day... unusual for NZ.
