    New ZXR rider

Thought I should quickly introduce myself before my forum whoring begins. I'm an engineering student at Auckland Uni (seems like theres heaps of us here). I'm pretty new to the whole riding thing, and picked up my first bike, a 1991 ZXR250c last Sunday. Had a good ride home - went from Glenfield to Papatoetoe via Whenuapai, Massey, Avondale and Mt Wellington It was a good way to build up confidence.

Anyway, enjoying the whole riding thing an awful lot so far, very quickly picking up confidence but trying to maintain cautious because being a bit old for a learner rider (25) I'm a lot more concerned about the possibility of dying than I was when I started driving.

Don't have any good pics of my bike yet but I'll see about getting some soon.

    So yes, hello bikers.

just thought I should add a thank you to the government, getting 5 years of tax refunds and my course related costs payments within a couple of weeks of each other funded much of the purchase of the bike

If they taxed you properly you wouldn't need those refunds!

Slyer - very true, but I like to think of it as mandatory savings Hoping that the return for year ending 2009 will get me a new jacket

Rob - haven't signed up yet, not sure about the steep membership fee

hahaha, yeah I was reading that thread - unfortunately because vehicle dynamics is a keen interest of mine, I have a reasonable idea of where the possible/impossible boundary lies (provided it's something nice and simple like braking in a straight line)

wbks - yep, I've been in the team for 4 years, we've had a huge number of bike riders/KB'ers in the team in that time. FWIW, it's called Formula SAE - our website is www.fsae.co.nz

Ok, I've seen it before but couldn't really remember what it was called and the last vid on youtube I watched of a similar car built by uni students in the UK for a world wide competition was (or atleast they called it) college cup, so I assumed it was that.

What do you have to do to do fsae? Whats your part in it? sorry for all the questions, its just interesting to me haha
