    Group 3 would be appropriate.
Sorry mate but how long do you think someone doing 1.50 laps will want to stay in group 3 ?
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

    What's that on, a bicycle?
That's quite appropriate for the front of group 3. At that pace you should manage the whole session and barely catch the tail.

Cool so this chap/lass doing 1.50 has 2 choices, start at the front and ride alone till he catches the tail or start at the back and carve G3 up ? Remember my initial comment was lack of skill level ! So your
saying this bloke on his new litre bike should be let loose on G3 ?
No Sorry but once you get to lead a group around, the natural thing to do is step up a group !
Oh and as for insinuating 1.50 is bicycle speed , i'd be interested to see what times your pedaling round in !

Not going there. Damned if I do, damned if I dont scenario.

Perhaps that's the natural thing to do, but the sensible thing to do would be stay at the front and build your experience instead of just moving up because you're on a fast bike.
Anyway, this is regarding the safety of having motards in group 1, because of being excluded from group 2. I'd rather be riding in group 2 as I said. You should expect the rest of the riders in that group to have more experience and skill than group 3 riders.

Was thinking along the same lines ! but hey stuborn lol

I personally can't understand why your stuck in 3 either mate ! I myself
don't have issues riding with motards ! Would hate to see a seperate group for them ! When i first moved to 1 i revelled in riding with them as it was
a battle to make a pass stick once you hit the corners ! But then the corner speeds came up and it was a matter of being patient !
Different story on race day when they mix classes.

You haven't actually been timed with a transponder around Taupo, have you?

In response to the OP, well - personally, I think Bret just wanted an excuse to show off his riding videos.

    Thats right.

I'm all for having everyone together and instead having the passing rules enforced.
We're out on the track because it's supposed to be a safer environment to let it all out. MotoTT themselves say no passing on the inside coming into a corner, but that's exactly what's going on in that video!

Redline trackdays I believe have a dedicated motards group. That's just a firm reason why I wont go to their days...

    Safe considerate passing prefered!

Take it up with them. It's not a race day.
The rule is not going up the inside when coming into a corner. It's fine when you're already in there and also on the way out...

Motards should be in whatever group there skill level suits. I give riders lots of room, but when your passing everyone 2 or 3 times a session cause they are in the wrong group it gets annoying!
