My last update was that they (circuit) had not completed the work due to the weather and lack of a weather 'window' to get it done.

From what I understand the product they are going to use needs a few days fine weather and non usage once laid.

I would guess that we'll all be on the track in its 'poor' state come saturday in the wet.
The older i get the faster i used to be.......

The track is still the same, no repair work has been done on the patches.
Don't forget to bring your wets for Saturday.

Looking at the various weather sites I'd say its 50/50 at the moment on the weather and if the one fronts arrival is a bit slow we could get a dry meeting.

Heres hoping but rain or shine I'm racing anyway so bring it on.

Yeah im guessing (and hoping for the same thing) hopefully it slows down bad track surface and wet equals a very slow day and keeps the ambo guys rather busy

Weather was mostly dry and cool today with about an hours worth of showers in the middle. Just enough to give everyone apart from Str8J a chance to practice wheel changes. I don't get on with the patches at all so Saturday is looking to be a slow one for me. If it is wet I'm not going anywhere near them and will be fitting trainer wheels. Taupo have talked about "coning off" the worst patches, but in the end we will have to ride to the conditions.

Yeah, what Clive said. Track was fucken slippery and those patches are horrible. Still, did what I had to do and broke in the piston. Once I did that i opened it up a bit after the track dried out and it was alot better. On yeah, its fucken cold in Taupo - bring lots of warm clothes!!

So in 6 weeks they've had no sun in Taupo................TUI anyone?

Funny that Manfeild were able to completely reseal 2 entire corners during last winter, not just patch.

Sorry Taupo not good enough IMO.

I don't think cones will help. The first rider through will stick out his knee and play skittles, while everyone behind falls off.

Its good to see that Taupo is supporting the VMCC again like it did 2 years ago .

Pay us ya money and fugg off if ya want a real track to race on. We are here for cars . Maybe then i could believe anything i hear about a professional track preperation regime.

Bring it back home to Manfeild.

Sounds like fun!! haha kidding of course.

It's a shame Taupo motor-sport don't look after the track, it's a fun track, but the maintenance of it is nothing more than what you would call a joke, I mean epoxy to 'fix' a race track!!! I think i'd prefer the bumps!!

Maybe it is time to look at just having a manfeild only championship, as much as I like Taupo, they're not offering a good service, so don't pay for it. Go some where else.
