FZR and FZ 250 specs

No I've been looking for a workshop manual for these (1HX is the number on the engine, not sure if it's the same as the 3ln or whatever) because I wanna start doing things to the bike.
It appears the only manual available is in Japanese, and you're supposed to combine it with the manual for the FZR400 to figure out what you need but I can't do it. I'm sure a bunch of people here know stuff or have a manual and I'd like to at least collect the engine specs so I have them on hand when I need them.

So does anyone have a set of these? Or just a few bits n pieces to throw together?

I have the valve clearances and torque settings for the head somewhere if that helps!, see if I can find them!

Couldnt find the info, will have another look, BUT I got some help on kiwibiker from a guy by the name of speedpro, send him a PM, and ask if he can help you out at all, he was really helpfull when I destroyed my FZR engine a while back!

The Yamaha place quoted me about 5 hundy for a full set of rings. Is it just me or is that just a little steep? Anyone from Christchurch care to point me in the right direction?

Good luck buddy. Sounds like you've taken on a big job on an old bike, to alot of people it wouldnt be worth it. But go for it, It'll definiantly be a good learning experiance.

Yea getting stock parts form japan is very expensive, im not sure about rings, but for things like seals you can get aftermarket stuff thats good.

Yeah, a few people have said it's a bad idea... Finding parts is the biggest job. Well, parts that don't cost an arm and a leg. Yeah I'm in it for the learning and the fun of getting my hands dirty (which I haven't done for a while). Plus I like the bike, and I'd rather keep this one till I get my full.

Yeah but seals are just bits of rubber, rings are different innit? Anyway if I find some it'll be absolutely mint!

Just out of interest... Does the FZR400 motor differ much from the 2fiddy as far as size/engine mounts/compatibility go? I mean it's all very well to
Saw one on trademe and while it's out of my price range for the moment and I'm supposed to be riding a 2fiddy anyway, I'm still curious

Dont know, I know people put fzr600 motors in fzr400's, dont know why you would want to put a 250 motor in a 400, just for your restriction?. who cares, just ride the 400 and dont draw attention to yourself/ crash.
